Day at the Zoo!!

So last Friday, Patsy and i took the boys and Hannah to the zoo in Pomerode. They had been reading a book about a guy and a jaguar so we thought it would be fun to take them to see some real ones when they were done! The zoo is only about 45 minutes to an hour away and is quite pretty. It isn't very big but that is actually nice when you are walking around with kids. They have a good variety of animals such as lions, bengal and siberian tigers, jaguars, pumas, bears, even an anteater. There are baboons, chimpanzees, other monkeys, lots of birds such as the toucan below, a hippopotamus, elephants and many other smaller animals.

The toucan although very pretty has a call that isn't so pretty! They have very beautiful royal blue eyes and bright beaks which are incredibly strong.

I think this guy was relieved to be in the zoo because they are common food for anacondas!!
This anteater was very interesting to see up close. It had the colors like a badger, a claw inside its paws or hooves and a bushy tail. Quite fascinating!!
This little monkey we named Elvis due to the hairstyle!! The kids really liked him.
This alligator wasn't impressed with our cheering on a little turtle who was climbing the hill trying to get over some rocks!
It was a great day and we had a lot of fun learning, listening and seeing all sorts of God's amazing creatures!!
